About the event
For those new to portraiture, Carole will guide you through many of the skills needed to achieve a likeness and produce a good portrait.
Working from photographs and live models, we will study the features, proportions, bone structure, pose and composition as well as colour mixing for flesh tones, hair, and backgrounds.
Carole will demonstrate in a variety of media, showing you tricks and techniques to achieve your perfect portrait.
You can choose your medium: charcoal or water soluble pencils, pastel pencils, soft pastels or watercolours.
Each day will end with an appraisal of work, and at the end of the course we usually have a low key, friendly exhibition.
Flatford Mill is an inspiring setting to paint, situated at the heart of Constable country, surrounded by locations that feature in many of Constable's most famous paintings, including notably, The Haywain.
