Carole will show you how to capture animals' character, expression, shape and form using soft pastels and pastel pencils. Using a variety of techniques and tricks you will practice painting the texture of fur, the patterns on an animal's coat or a bird's feathers.

About the event
The demands of capturing character and expression in an animal or bird are just as important as painting a human.
Carole will show you “how to” using pastels and pastel pencils, first looking at shape and form, then concentrating on features and measuring proportions, before moving on to techniques for painting texture and pattern and tackling highlights and shadows on black and/or white dogs and cats, or the specific demands in painting a bird.
You can work in watercolours or acrylics if you prefer.
